This Privacy Policy explains how Eatix ("Eatix," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Eatix mobile application, website pages, and related services (the "Service").
Eatix helps users log meals, analyze meal photos and descriptions, estimate calories and nutrients, and maintain a nutrition history. Eatix is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.

1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide, information generated when you use the Service, and information collected automatically by the app and third-party services used to operate, secure, analyze, and improve Eatix.
1.1 Information You Provide
Profile and nutrition information:
- Date of birth or age-related information.
- Height, current weight, weight goals, calorie goals, protein goals, carbohydrate goals, fat goals, activity level, gender, measurement system, locale, allergies, and health-related preferences or conditions that you choose to enter.
Meal and food information:
- Meal names, foods, brands, weights, nutrients, calories, meal times, favorites, and meal history.
- Custom foods or edited food data you add to the app.
Photos, audio, and messages:
- Meal photos you capture or upload.
- Voice recordings or audio descriptions you choose to submit.
- Text messages, prompts, replies, feedback, and support chat messages you send through the Service.
Support communications:
- Email address and the content of messages you send to support@eatix.life.
- Any additional information you choose to include in a support request.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
App, device, and diagnostic information:
- Device model, operating system, app version, language, region, IP address, approximate location derived from technical data, device identifiers, installation identifiers, session identifiers, crash logs, performance data, and diagnostic data.
Usage and analytics information:
- Screens viewed, features used, taps, events, session length, referral or attribution information, subscription-related events, and other interaction data that helps us understand how the Service is used and improved.
Authentication information:
- Eatix uses Firebase Authentication, including anonymous authentication, to identify app sessions and secure requests to the Eatix backend.
Local app data:
- Eatix stores some profile, meal, nutrition, chat, and app state data locally on your device so the app can function and maintain your history.
2. How We Use Information
We use information for the following purposes:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve Eatix.
- Create and maintain your app session and user profile.
- Analyze meal photos, text descriptions, and voice descriptions to generate food, calorie, and nutrition estimates.
- Maintain meal history, favorites, goals, and app settings.
- Personalize nutrition estimates and app behavior based on your profile and preferences.
- Process support requests, feedback, and app diagnostics.
- Detect, prevent, and fix bugs, crashes, abuse, fraud, and technical problems.
- Understand app usage, onboarding, retention, attribution, and feature performance.
- Manage subscriptions, entitlement status, and purchase restoration.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
3. AI and Nutrition Analysis
Eatix may use automated systems, including OpenAI services, to process meal photos, text descriptions, audio descriptions or transcripts, and related context in order to estimate foods, calories, nutrients, and suggested meal entries.
AI-generated and automated nutrition results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your individual circumstances. You should review results before relying on them. Eatix does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease and does not replace professional medical advice.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your meal photos, voice recordings, allergies, health conditions, or nutrition profile to serve third-party ads.
We may share information in the following ways:
Service Providers
We use third-party providers to operate, secure, analyze, improve, and monetize the Service. These providers may process information on our behalf or as independent providers under their own terms and privacy policies.
- OpenAI: AI-powered meal, text, image, and audio analysis.
- Firebase and Google: authentication, analytics, crash reporting, app diagnostics, infrastructure, and related services.
- Google Analytics: usage analytics and website or app measurement.
- Amplitude: product analytics and feature usage analysis.
- AppsFlyer: attribution, referral, campaign measurement, and analytics.
- Adapty: subscription management, paywall configuration, entitlement status, and purchase analytics.
- Apple App Store and Google Play: in-app purchases, subscriptions, payment processing, refunds, and app distribution.

Legal, Safety, and Compliance
We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is necessary to:

Business Transfers
If Eatix is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards where required by law.
5. App Permissions
Eatix may request access to:
- Camera: to capture meal photos.
- Photo library: to select meal photos.
- Microphone: to record voice meal descriptions.
- Local storage: to store app data, cached content, photos, audio files, or session data needed by the Service.
You can control app permissions through your device settings. Some features may not work if required permissions are disabled.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account or app session, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, improve safety, and support legitimate business purposes.
Retention practices may vary by data type:
- Profile and meal data may be retained while your app session or account-related record remains active.
- Meal photos, audio, messages, and AI analysis data may be retained as needed to provide meal analysis, history, support, safety, and troubleshooting.
- Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
- Analytics, attribution, crash, diagnostic, and subscription data may be retained according to our operational needs and the retention practices of the relevant third-party providers.
- Backup copies may persist for a limited period after deletion from active systems.
The current in-app reset or delete data controls are intended to clear local app data and app state on your device. They should not be understood as a guarantee that all backend, Firebase, analytics, attribution, subscription, support, or provider records are immediately deleted.
To request deletion of backend or profile-related data, contact support@eatix.life with the subject line "Data Deletion Request - Eatix." We will respond within 30 days and may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Deleting the app, clearing app data, or requesting data deletion does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions must be canceled through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where you purchased them.
7. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information we hold about you.
- Correct or update inaccurate information.
- Delete personal information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request a portable copy of certain information.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
You can update some profile, goal, measurement, language, and app settings directly in the app. For other privacy requests, contact support@eatix.life.
You can also manage some data collection through:
- Device permission settings.
- Apple or Google advertising and privacy settings.
- App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
- Analytics or attribution controls made available by your device platform or relevant providers.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encrypted network transport, authentication controls, access restrictions, and crash and diagnostic monitoring.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of information.
9. International Data Transfers
Eatix and our service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
10. Children's Privacy
Eatix is not intended for children under 16 (or under 13 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable age).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Eatix, contact support@eatix.life and we will take appropriate steps to delete the information.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and make the updated policy available at https://eatix.life/privacy. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app or by other reasonable means.
